Biodiversity Data Assistant

Salary range: £25,992 to £28,163 per annum

Work location: Hybrid Working with an office base at County Hall, Oxford

Hours per week: 37 – we are open to discussions about flexible working

Contract type: Permanent

About the role: 

As a Biodiversity Data Assistant, you will play a crucial role in collecting, validating, and managing species, sites, and habitats data. This data, much of which is geospatial, is essential for providing services to our customers to aid their decision-making processes. Your key responsibilities will include running our data search and licensing service, maintaining high data standards, and developing tools and processes to ensure data quality and consistency. You will also support internal and customer projects, working closely with team members and volunteers to ensure efficient and reliable day-to-day operations.

About the role

In your role as Biodiversity Data Officer you will collect, validate, and manage our species, sites and habitats data. Much of this is geospatial and you and the TVERC team will use it to provide services to our customers to help their decision making.  You will support the day-to-day running of our data search and licencing service, handling complex queries and ensuring high data standards..

You will develop tools and processes to maintain data quality its lifecycle and work closely with the Biodiversity Data Assistant, Biodiversity Data Officer, Data Managers and volunteers. Additionally, you will contribute to internal and customer projects, seek improvements to our data platform and services, and help extend the types and volumes of data managed.
