The 2024 Berkshire Local Wildlife Site (LWS) surveys covered 34 sites, mostly woodlands, with some grassland, wetland, scrub, and heathland elements.

We are thrilled to announce the release of our Annual Report for 2023/24. This report encapsulates a year of significant progress in biodiversity monitoring, data collection, and community engagement across Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

This year we carried out surveys of 38 existing and proposed Local Wildlife Sites in Oxfordshire. Survey highlights include visits to Matthew Arnold Field to the southwest of Oxford, a calcareous grassland site in South Oxfordshire, a wet woodland in West Oxfordshire and a site with acidic grassland in Cherwell.

Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre (TVERC) are being funded by Mend the Gap (MTG) for a project on key indicator and iconic species in MTG programme area, and learning more about those that are observing wildlife
